GLAM Brackets

GLAM brackets are the new, conventionally ligating ceramic brackets from FORESTADENT. They are completely translucent and therefore fulfil the aesthetic demands of the most discerning patients. Rounded slot edges reduce friction and ensure shorter treatment times. A significant  advantage for the orthodontist is that these new ceramic brackets are especially easy to debond without any risk of splintering. GLAM brackets make perfect your patients appearance and simplify your work.

Pure aesthetics

GLAM BracketsNot only adults but more and more younger patients are now calling for unobtrusive treatment using aesthetic materials. The new GLAM bracket from FORESTADENT enables you to fulfil this wish without fear of compromise. Due to its novel ceramic structure this one piece bracket is totally incon spicuous: Whereas the smooth surfaces of many ceramic brackets cause harsh reflections which attract unwanted attention, the gentle opalescence of the GLAM’s surface is completely matt and beautifully discreet. A further winning feature of the GLAM brackets is their outstanding translucence. Since they possess no dominant colour of their own, GLAM brackets blend in with the natural shade of the patient’s dentition.

But GLAM offers even more; The rounded slot edges not only give reduced friction, they also protect the surfaces of tooth-coloured archwires. When used in conjunction with BioCosmetic archwires, for example, the GLAM bracket instantly blends in to form an aesthetic solution  – to the delight of even the most discerning patients.

Uncompromising functionality

The GLAM bracket consists of a single piece of distortion-proof ceramic. This ensures that clinical forces are efficiently and accurately transferred from the slot to the base without the loss of torque that might be caused by transitions from one material to another or by joints between bracket components. The brackets contain no plastic parts which could be subject to discoloration.
With regard to handling, GLAM is no different from other brackets. Markings  using the Palmer notation prevent any mix-ups from occurring during positioning and are easily brushed off afterwards. Ligation is carried out conventionally by the tried and tested method.

GLAM brackets feature rounded slot edges. The new GLAM Bracketsmanufacturing method of GLAM achieves better and rounder slot inlets than the conventional milling process.

GLAM® is available for maxillary and mandibular 5–5. Canine and premolar brackets are also optionally available with integrated rounded hooks which enable elastic chains to be used

Ceramic doesn’t have to splinter

GLAM BracketsMost patients appreciate the aesthetic advantages of ceramic brackets. Very few, however, are aware of the problems encountered during debonding. For many orthodontists, the thought that  ceramic may splinter or fracture is a major cause forconcern. In order to actively combat this risk during the development of the GLAM bracket, FORESTADENT was able to draw on the company’s extensive experience in developing two generations of the QuicKlear GLAM Bracketsbracket. Inspired by the easy handling and above-all trouble-free debonding of this bracket, GLAM was specifically designed to be removed in one piece by means of the Paul’s debonding tool, without splintering or fracturing.

In the best of company

From an aesthetic point of view, GLAM brackets are in the very best of company. Together with the equally new and innovative BioCosmetic archwires, they form a perfect combination. The durable tooth-coloured coating of BioCosmetic archwires retains its whiteness over time and therefore remains inconspicuous during the entire course of treatment. When used in conjunction with transparent rubber ligatures or tooth-coloured steel ligatures, the aesthetic effect is nothing short of perfection.

In the case of patients with extreme overbite, the upper incisors often collide with ceramic brackets bonded  to the  lower arch. In order to prevent this from happening, many orthodontists resort to the combined use of vestibular ceramic (maxillary) and lingual (mandibular) brackets.

For clinical cases such as these, the 2D lingual system from FORESTADENT presents an excellent alternative. The 2D lingual brackets are extremely flat, which ensures the most effective treatment and highest possible degree of patient comfort.
