Traditional company FORESTADENT participates in the Pforzheim fundraising campaign “Hand in hand – we are helping our city”.
Anja and Stefan Förster, members of the management board of the Pforzheim dental manufacturer FORESTADENT, have presented the Lord Mayor of their city, Gert Hager, with a cheque for over € 5,000. By donating the money FORESTADENT wanted to get actively involved the large-scale fundraising campaign “Hand in hand – we are helping our city”, which was recently initiated by the Pforzheimer Zeitung (Pforzheim Newspaper). This prompted the citizens of Pforzheim to show their community spirit and raise money for important, forward-looking projects that were otherwise threatened with failure due to empty city coffers. One of these projects is “Integra”, which will receive financial support with the help of the donations.
About one in five people living in Germany is an immigrant or a descendant of immigrants1 and the language is often a barrier to integration. “Integra” was set up some time ago in order to promote German language skills, particularly in the case of mothers with a migrant background and their children in pre-school and primary school age. Mothers with a migrant background are taught twice a week at the Pforzheim Osterfeldgrundschule (Osterfeld primary school) within the framework of this project under the motto, “Education with support and support with education”. The children are looked after at the same time. The aim is to encourage dialogue between the school and home, whereby the primary school should be experienced as a shared place of education.
